Canon Point: At the end of the written history provided; shortly after she's been revived.

Spoken language(s): English/Spanish

To the Mods: N/A; she's biologically Incredibly Weird but able to sustain herself independently.

History: Writeup!

Personality:

Rosa, revived, runs pretty hot-and-cold socially. At base, she’s a brightly demonstrative, talkative and outgoing girl who likes to meet other people and learn about them. Other than Jan, she's largely been starved for two-sided social interaction for a long time and will grasp for it eagerly now that she has the capability for it and a community of people to talk (well, "talk" to.) She has a lot of feelings and she wants to share them! That's in multiple senses: it's very nice to be feeling a plethora of positive and neutral things instead of just being stuck in a grief, rage, resentment and regret rut; and it's also nice to be able to physically touch things and feel them and mess with them, period. This can make her come across as a bit too optimistic and overeager sometimes, a little off, though she's usually willing to cool it and talk it out if politely called out.

She's easily overstimulated and overwhelmed at this stage of her new life too, in the physical and emotional senses, so there's a lot of potential for discomfort and misinterpretation downsides there. She's also easily embarrassed and not really able to hide it; horribly stubborn if she disagrees with someone; and has a terribly hot temper if you get her going. The first thing she lost as a ghost was social graces, and she’s remembered some of them via coexisting with Jan for a while and regaining some memories, but the process is not complete, so she can be bad at tactfully removing herself from conversations and social situations when they make her mad or uncomfortable, or stepping away from unwinnable fights.

She'll learn, though! She wants to fit in, eventually. The Quiet Place relying more on nonverbal or electronic communication will actually help, since she has more practice at emailing/messaging people and it's a bit easier for her to calm down before replying to a network message than it would be in a face to face interaction.

Her sense of humor is pretty robust, but can run to the morbid side for obvious reasons. It's extremely hard to faze her with gross/creepy anecdotes or visuals, since she's (figuratively) lived a pretty decent gamut of those. She's got a few serious lingering sore spots regarding past and family and straight up not knowing things, though -- maybe 70% of her old memories remain missing at this point, which she regrets like anything, and she's highly aware that she's a fish out of water in the living/modern world in many ways. She's mellowed out enough, though, that it's likelier for her to excitably chatter past that discomfort rather than her old recourse, which was to try and smother the person who brought it up and/or write threatening ectoplasmic messages on their mirrors. Thank goodness.

She loves taking care of nonsentient living things and finds that much more soothing and less complicated than dealing with people, too; a couple of the hobbies Jan enabled her to do as a ghost and which she's held onto after coming back to life are windowbox gardening and bird feeding/watching.

Abilities/Skills:

On the mundane side, she's a pretty good gardener and cook, can sew and embroider, has a solid understanding of computers and internet, and plays a mean game of solitaire.

On the weird side, she's morphologically unstable. She remembers her human form and tries to stay in that shape most of the time, but she's still much more used to the monstrous shape she was wearing for most of the last century, and mood shifts may cause shapeshifting. Her hair might fluff up into feathers when she's embarrassed, or she might pop out extra eyes if she's feeling paranoid, or she might blort into a mass of teeth and tentacles and wings if she gets badly angered or defensive. This ability is double-edged: being able to grow extra arms or a whole lot of extra eyes or natural weapons is great, but as she's now corporeal and gravity/physics apply, having surprise extra/displaced mass is a problem and likely to just make her fall over until she reverses it.

She can't grow wings in any configuration that would allow her to fly, shapeshifting doesn't increase her physical strength, and the largest her monster form can go is thrice her regular mass, so it's not like she can go Godzilla and flatten buildings. While she will gain finer control and stability with time and practice, excessive shapeshifting burns up energy, and she needs to eat and sleep a lot if she overdoes it. The shapeshifting also makes some gross noises, normally; those will be muted in the Quiet Place.

She can still see other ghosts, though not touch them. She also has a slight psychic bond with Jan, due to the failed attempt to possess her. While they can't telepathically communicate through it, they can vaguely sense each others' location, and powerful emotions from either of them will filter through to the other person.

LOG (USING TDM # 1 - QUIET, QUIET PROMPT)

[Rosa's not afraid of the unnatural twilight; not really. she's spent too long in the nooks and crannies of her own dark and quiet place. at least this one's laid out so she can move around. the ground's still solid underfoot, the paths stretching out and marking her way forward and away, and that's a comfort so great it outweighs any initial spooking. still, she is on edge from when the native ran past in a panic, adrenaline tying a giddy knot in her belly. she has her communicator gripped tightly in her hand (too tightly; she can feel her fingers losing definition around it, wrapping it up in extra coils). too bad it's out of power.

she's about to pull her sleeve lower to hide her hand from her walking partner, but that's when the gasp comes. she turns instead; winces silently as extra eyes pop open on her cheek and forehead; tries to will them away as the silhouette -- the fellow-ghost, the monster? -- leaps out in her bright, tripled vision.

she sort of wants to hide, but she wants to fight it even more. bad idea, when she doesn't know anything about it, when she's trying to be a regular girl somehow kidnapped to the middle of weird spooky post-disaster France. she bares her teeth at it anyway; aggressive, not cowed. are you what they're so afraid of? she tries to convey without speaking. I punched a bigger, scarier thing than you in the face before I got here. bet I could do the same to you. Jan and I want to go home, you know!

it steps closer instead of backing off; gasps again. not good. the people here are quiet for a damn good reason. all right.

she meets her partner's eyes and jerks her head toward the deeper darkness, tries to look calm instead of flushed and angry and keep her own damn extra eyes shut. she holds up her free hand, three fingers up; wills them and her feet to stay normal as she counts down. god, bodies have so many parts.

three, two, one -- time to run.]

NETWORK

[she hasn't mastered the art of messaging very neatly yet, in this life; typing by sort of thinking very hard into the electronics as a ghost is much better for that sort of thing than physically doing it. bones and joints and flexing skin on the keys or buttons . . . it still feels so weird!

still, what she lacks in form, she makes up for in enthusiasm. people, people, people, and a way to talk to them right now, almost instantaneously, rather than awkwardly fumbling her way around the signing or writing a message in the sand? sold.]
